Health

HealthWhen travelling overseas, it is recommended that you speak to your doctor about vaccination requirements and general health care information. Should you have an existing medical condition you feel may restrict your ability to travel, or if you have special dietary requirements, it's critical that you advise your travel consultant. If you have a medical condition or physical disability which may be exacerbated by long distance travel or you have any concerns that you may be susceptible to developing Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) you should immediately contact your doctor. To minimise the risk of this, you could:

  • Avoid dehydration

  • Stay active ' regularly exercise the lower limbs to stimulate blood flow

  • Wear loose, non-restrictive clothing and avoid crossing your legs

  • Avoid using sleeping tablets

You may also require various vaccinations depending on the destination you're travelling to and should consult your doctor before travelling.
