Getting your L's

Once you have turned 16 you are ready to learn to drive on the road.

What do you need to do?

Get along to your nearest Licensing Centre (Metro click here, Regional click here.) between 8.15am and 3.45pm Monday to Friday and bring the following:

• Written permission from your parent / guardian if you're under 18.

• One primary (birth certificate / Australian passport) and one secondary (school report / current bankcard or statement) form of identification For more info on IDs click here.

At the Licensing Centre you will need to:

• Complete the computer-generated theory test and score at least 24/30.
  You can practise the theory test by clicking here.

• Pass an eyesight test - take your glasses if you normally wear them

• Declare whether you have a medical condition and / or take medication
