Technical Advice

At the RAC you will find qualified staff on hand to answer queries and provide complimentary automotive technical advice to members.

We can assist with unbiased information on all matters associated with owning and operating a motor vehicle - from advice on vehicle prices, repairs, servicing, parts and accessories, to guidance on fuel economy, anti-theft devices, disputed garage accounts, towing and general motoring problems.

Free RAC technical advice is available to members over the counter, or by phone or mail. If phoning for advice call 13 17 03 between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Plus, there is a range of RAC advisory leaflets on subjects such as buying your first car, using battery jumper leads, towing, tyre pressures, car running costs, preparing for holidays, car care preventative maintenance and purchasing a used car. Some of these publications will be available on-line - check the RAC reference library from time to time for new information.
